Just noticed this, not "new" news but I hadn't seen it anywhere before (date April 10):
Australian data centre operator NextDC is expanding its Perth data centre capacity. According to NextDC, since P1 Perth data centre opened a year ago, a host of colocation customers have moved in, including over 20 carriers and service providers. As a result, the first of P1’s four data halls has almost no space available. Currently in progress, when the fit-out of Data Hall 2 is complete it will provide around 700 square meters of technical space powered by up to 1.4MW of IT load, and is expected to support 300 or more racks.
NextDC’s product set includes both whitespace and rack-ready, and P1 Data Hall 2 will start out with two pods of cold aisle contained racks, ready to go by early June. For those needing larger, private or specialised deployments, whitespace will also be all set to be fitted-out to support your specific needs, including a dedicated security cage if required, the company said.
