There are a couple of minor issues to consider regarding a pit, even of hypothetical dimensions. One is that the basal contact dips SSE at an average of 10 degrees, so 1000 metres out, it's 270 metres below the Purdy surface, which is further compounded out to the south because that puts it under the Cooya Pooya dolerites which form the high hills, so add another 100 metres. The second point is that the southern boundary of the Purdy tenement is only 450 metres from where the conglomerate surfaces, so there is a restriction there as well. The known current nugget distribution, in linear length is only around 700 metres long, at best, on the tenement, so a lot more work has to be done on the northern side of the Mt Roe out to the NE, as suggested by another poster, but nugget hunts out there have been very bleak.
