Saturday, 12 Mar 2011 ABC reported that the Queensland Resources Council as saying that high copper and gold prices are boosting mining and exploration in the state's North West.
The CuDECO Company is developing a massive project near Cloncurry east of Mount Isa which will involve USD 200 million minerals processing plant and almost 50 homes being built in the town.
Mr Michael Roche CEO of QRC said that the Ivanhoe Company is also planning to reopen a copper gold mine near Mount Isa and Xstrata is also expanding its Cloncurry operations. Of course we've got a range of projects such as the Roseby project, Exco Resources, Cloncurry project and CuDECO project all working their way through project approvals, proving up the financial viability of the projects."
