Maybe I'm a bit simple but the suggestion that major option holders want to maintain the price so that they can put money into the business, only to expect it to drop in value straight away doesn't seem likely to me.
If they have the dosh and the desire, and are insiders, they could let the options expire and issue new stock at whatever the market price happens to be.
Also, wouldn't such blatant market manipulation by the directors be ilegal in Australia?
