Until they can convert it, it's of no value... It's effectively a loss making transaction that only benefits MinRes which puts a smile on Gina Reinhardt's face.

@Facthunter some time back Treasury did some modelling on charging motorists cents per kilometre, to get around the loss from excise when electric cars took off. It used a device similar to tolling tags.

They.. The government realise it is inevitable and from what we know.. Don't encourage the shift.. Likely because of that very reason. Less excise.
