I agree. The former govt policy on border protection, whilst it seemed harsh at the time, worked. The disincentive it created to people contemplating getting on boats has saved lives. The new approach from this govt has given these people some hope as the consequences are far softer therefore more appealing. The end result of decisions made by labour policy have resulted in loss of life, and cost millions to facilitate. They have attempted to fix a problem that wasn't broken and failed dismally.
