Before you start to sharpen your swords to cut me into ribbons I'll state that I am NOT attacking OSH.
But this Aid program has hit a wall which still may come tumbling down on investors in PNG companies.

    The Latest out of PNG:

Govt will not allow changes to Constitution to cater for ECP By SINCLAIRE SOLOMON

THERE will be no changes to the Constitution to allow for continued Australian police presence in Papua New Guinea under the Enhanced Co-operation Programme (ECP). This is the PNG Government’s current position which was conveyed to Australian High Commissioner Mike Potts yesterday.

“Amending our Constitution is non-negotiable at this present time,”

Downer blames PNG for defective legislation

Cops, officials sad to see AAP go

By JULIA DAIA-BORE and BONNEY BONSELA

SEVERAL police personnel, including senior officers, have expressed regret that the Australian Assisting Police (AAP) will be leaving.
They said that in the short time the AAP got involved with the Port Moresby police, there was improvement in various areas, from work attitude to working conditions.
A senior officer believes that the withdrawal “will only condemn the force to the old wantok system and favouritism”.

    My comments:
Obviousily the ECP is a failure, and whether our police return is doubtful. Thus a return to the age old problems of corruption and a lack of proper policing will continue.

How many investors have lived in Port Moresby?
It's scary. Last time we had South Afrtica security forces guarding us every minute, even the wife had a guard when she went to the supermarket.

And what about our billion dollar aid program? Howard said they'd only get the aid if they took on our managers and police....

This may develop into a bigger story.

    All the best from
