The dogs we fed mince from butchers and some bones.
I cooked mince with garlic and some veg and sometimes pasta.

The cats were fussy. Found a wholesale chook place and bought up there and then
sometimes steamed it as one of ours had an autoimmune disease.

If I was making soup I kept some stock and just poured it over the
mince for the dogs but not the cats. I always did a cook up on Sundays and then just
portioned it out for the week to save time. They both loved roo mince.
I also went to a Pet place and they had natural cat food in the tin.

We did give both dogs and cats biscuits but also got from that Pet place at
Kellyville. Had to really shop around and search online for recipes.
Found a lady who only made vegetarian for her huge great Dane.
He was such a happy healthy dog.

At present I'm growing cat grass for a neighbour (good grief) for her
cats as one was sick a while back. Also catnip which I'll dry and make
    into toys for them (hopefully).

I think the cost evened out with cooking my own pet food and buying
the natural tinned stuff which was expensive.

People would say don't cook the mince give it to them raw but as one
of our cats wasn't well we lightly cooked it. Same with the dogs.
