There was an item on TV yesterday (ABC News?) about metal and plastic being found in commercial pet food. Pet owners were interviewed who had found sharp shards of metal and plastic in canned dog food.
They also interviewed a fellow who had been senior in the industry who said the plastic is often from ear tags on sheep as they throw the heads into the mix. Metal can come from anywhere.
I remember the once leading brand of pet food that was heavily promoted through vets was found to contain an additive used in rubber products.
