No one believes the IPCC anymore. Look, it started out as a justification for a carbon trading racket and just got out of hand. They've had to retract so much stuff they are walking backwards...
    ...........................................
"I guess we'll get the usual reaction from the neanderthals on HC who already know more than the cmbined weight of the IPCC. And who foolishly and unsuccessfully try to tear the report to bits."
    ...........................................

Neanderthals? You are revealing alot about yourself there.
It's everyone's right and duty to tear reports to bits if they can. This is a stock market forum, duh. Do you always believe directors reports???They know more about the company than any shareholder but still have been known to lie....

    ............................................

"It's hard to believe that the self importance that many HC posters ascribe to themselves because they know everything somehow stops when they pretend they have no impact on their environment.."

    .............................................

Self-importance? Hardly, just having a few k's on the clock beyond one's young and stupid years gives one the ability to spot scams. You'll get it eventually when you can see a bigger picture than a simple report and its political, social and economic underpinnings.

    ..........................................

"Hopefully rational people can chart.an intelligent course. Despite its faults, the australian system apparently helped cut carbon emissions and increase output from renewables, a small step in the right direction."

    ..........................................

Of course rational people can chart an intelligent course.
They will reject models that don't work, reject political campaigns designed to impoverish and disempower them and their children and grandchildren, and reject vested interests promoting a fantasy green utopia that will never work.

Rational people are inclined to doubt "research" that its authors privately have misgivings about.

Rational people understand human nature and how hard it is to publicly admit that one is mistaken when so much is on the line.

Rational people wonder why a minor phenomena that is barely discernible from background natural cycles with any great accuracy is automatically labelled as " all bad"(when of course there are winners and losers, let's not discuss those)and leap to the top of the human threat league, above ongoing disasters like Fukushima (ignored, too hard),a SME which would take us back to the stone age in a month, likewise an asteroid strike, likewise WW3, likewise another Little Ice Age(OK, not in a week),and the list could go on...you get the drift. Why aren't they promoted like the CAGW story? No one is making abuck out of them.

Rational people can recognise propaganda when they see it, they notice the repetitive, simple message repeated endlessly. OK, that is ending as its effect is wearing off and more people are waking up to the scam.

Rational people watch what people do not just what they say. Real emergencies call for real responses in real human societies in all times. In real emergencies a la existential threats like war etc governments take charge, give orders, and shoot anyone giving lip. Compare that to the alleged CAGW response er, let's trade carbon certificates lolol yagottabekiddenme...Would you take a war seriously if all sides were trading *virtual* ammunition certificates? Nah, didn't think so..

    cheers
