Plenty of things happening locally here re EV revolution. CHristchurch Airport going electric. Also as I understand they are supplying a fleet of e-Golfs for their frequent business arrivals to use around town on bussiness. Waste disposal trucks all going E. E MOUNTAIN BIKES ARE SELLING LIKE CRAZy. TRIED ONE OUT MYSELF, great fun!
Orion have about 20 electric SUVs and charging stations.
I have a couple of mates who have built their own cars and employers seem to be happy for them to plug in at work.
Had a ride in the ugly NISSAN LEAF ...fun. it was purchased secnd hand for $18000nz, for commuting. About $3 per charge, uses about 60% of its charge over 2 days of commuting, round trip 50kms, so 100kms with 40% left for round town chores. According to the purchaser hes gone from spending over a $100 per week in diesel to $13 in pwr. Charges at wrk and at home with a normal 3 pln plug.
Cant wait to order my Tesla when more freely available here!
