JonnoH, on another thread I expressed my view that the previous Morgan Poll showing Bill Shorten leading Tony Abbott 58.5:41.5 as preferred PM represented a tipping point. Not only is the latest 57:43 2PP alarming, so too is the significant drop in public confidence - now at a record low of just 86 points, with 48.5% of people replying that Australia is headed in the wrong direction!

This latest Morgan Poll follows on the back of the ReachTel Poll which found the 2PP to be 53:47 and the latest NewsPoll released on Monday showing is to be 54:46.

Taken collectively and averaged the polls are saying something like 54:46 and even the best result for Abbott as PM [NewsPoll] has him equal with Shorten on 38% as preferred PM. That same NewsPoll found 61% of people are dissatisfied with Abbott's performance.
