Su-30 Air-to-air missiles:
- R-27 (AA-10 Alamo) Max Range 130km, though most range 70-100km.
- R-73 (AA-11 Archer) Range: 30km
F-35 AAM's:
- AIM 120 AMRAAM only AAM that F-35 will use (unless something better comes out). Range in excess of 30NM (48KM).
You are probably correct regarding the training - though who really knows how good their pilots are. Missiles - not so correct. Most of the Su-30 variants carry the Alamo which has a greater range than the AMRAAM.
There is the detection issue i.e you have to find the F-35 to shoot it, but assuming improvements in technology to detect stealth aircraft i.e. dopler, then this could be an issue. If there was ever a 'dog-fight' i.e. close range combat I think the fight would be alot closer. Training doesn't really matter when someone can fire a AAM at you just by looking at you, even if you are flying away at a 90 degree angle to the Su-30 (Archer).
