Problem is it's on dept Conservation land (DOCS)
As I understand it they were lucky to even get an underground mine established... Will be interesting to see how this unfolds.
I would not be confident that DOCs would OK the destruction of a nature reserve area for the purpose of open cast but they might see reason.
I guess the big question is will the existing shareholders still have a stake in the new mine??
