As far as getting rid of Crean is concerned, the Labor back room boys should wait until the next election is announced and then bring in a new leader. The problem is who:
1) current NSW State Premier - the trouble is that New South Welshmen make great cricket captains and bodgie Prime Ministers.
2) Current VIC Premier - Would poll brilliantly in VIC but the NSW machine would hate him.
3) The silver budgie. - The Women's magazines would fix him up by runing features on Hazel.
4) Carmen Lawrence - Howard would have a double dissolution organised in record time.
