The problem with installing diodes is that you lose some efficency. So when it comes to a large building and silicon, your restricted to particular areas with a good orentation for the whole year.
This is where dyesol will be most useful, shaded or not, overcast or sunny its going to output power and as I understand the whole building could be covered, with half the building shaded and the voltage will remain stable.
