To oversee all of this debacle would require any self respecting leader (of any calibre) to dive on their sword. Anything less is just plain rude. A manager for a small retailer or family business would have been sacked or quit by now for losing so much value in a business. And there really doesn't seem to be anything positive on the horizon that would demonstrate goodwill or confidence in the competence of those who managed the demise.
