Monterrey Investment Management is one of Asia’s leading investment managers, specialising in the management of opportunistic hedge funds. Based in Melbourne Australia, Monterrey primarily invests in listed Australian equity and equity-linked securities.

Monterrey manages two managed investment schemes for onshore and offshore investors. The Merlin Investment Fund was launched on 1 August 2000. The Fund is an A$ denominated, open-ended unit trust structure, catering for Australian investors. Merlin returned +24.1% for the 2006 calendar year, net of all fees.

The Harrier Investment Fund was launched on 1 April 2002. This Fund is a US$ denominated, Cayman Island exempted company, catering for international investors. Harrier returned +23.3% for the 2006 calendar year, net of all fees.

Monterrey also operate a number of individually managed accounts for large Australian and international financial institutions, and Fund of Hedge Funds. Monterrey group FUM in the strategy at 31 December 2006 was AUD250m.

Monterrey is an unlisted public company formed in November 2001. The company was established following a management buy out of Fleet Investment Management Limited from the listed parent, Fleet Capital Limited.
