This table shows how many mobile sites TPG currently has that are in the process of being commissioned. The source of data is RFNSA.
For example: In May 2018, 205 sites were added to the list of sites to be commissioned, bringing the total up to end of May to 537.
At the start of the mobile project, TPG estimated that they will need 2,000 - 2,500 towers to reach their initial target of 80% population coverage. Recently, they have stated that they are planning to install more small cells than originally planned.
If we take 2,500 as their initial target, then at 537, TPG has reached approximately 21.50% of their overall target.
Almost all of these 537 sites are small cells sites located in the CBD areas of Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane and Adelaide and some suburbs included in the their initial trial later this year.
As we can see from the table above, the speed of commissioning has increased significantly in May 2018 and I expect this to continue for the foreseeable future.
