I do not think currency dealers are not as stupid as the general public may be.
the AUD had been weakening before the election was announced and the weakness has increased post announcement.
Labors tax policy when it is announced may have an effect on the AUD one way or another, polls showing one party leading the other by a resonable margin may also move the dollar.
