re:x: latham knew implications of book: biographer Alas, Mr X, I don't see them sorting themselves out for a long time now. Probably another 20 years or maybe longer. They will be coming from the Right (to show that they're business friendly) and they'll be coming from the Left (to show they're worker-friendly) and all of them will be hated by each other.
All that Howie will need to do is to continue pulling the same string: Fear! Fear of "foreigners," fear of "terrorists" fear of "unions" fear of "uni. students," fear of people who throw babies overboard, fear of people who toss people into meat grinders, fear of rickety fishing boats, fear of peace, fear of quiet, fear of wisdom, of free speech, of anyone who's not in jail or in the army, fear of the unemployed... and they're back into their golden thrones with yet a greater majority. They won't need to get rid of the Senate. They WILL BE the senate AND the House of Reps! No need for Parliament to sit for debates. Just right up the laws -any way they like and pass them! Could be doing that in front of the telly, while laughing at the Big Brother irony!
