i can guarantee there is not one or if indeed any, major or even minor country town in rural Vic that does not have or has not at some stage in the past had direct access to a rail line. so your argument about trucks being the so called "life line" of transport in central Vic is really neglible. the calder is just a pretty highway to for convenience, nothing more. it serves no real national importance and is a whim of central victorians who feel they have been left out. boo hoo.
