re: tagstash-lathams best stuff up yet "Did Latham say at any stage in this election campaign that he would rid us of GST? If so crap its here to stay under either party, and you can be sure it will increase in the next 12 to 18 months. Anyone here seen the benefits of the GST? All those promised goods and services that would become cheaper once it was bought in, bullsh1t everything stayed the same or became more expensive with the 10% GST now having to be tacked on to services that didnt charge tax before."

That statement is just plain wrong.

    100% FACTUALLY WRONG!

the gst, whilst maybe not perfect ,is a much fairer way of taxing the so called rich.

Have you not ever heard of wholesale taxes with some goods carrying in excess of 30%. They are now only 10%.

I see the benefits of GST all around, why can't you?
The governments both state and federal are cashed up, inflation is under control and in general luxury shopping goods such as cool drinks and snackfoods etc are cheaper now than they were 10 years ago?

Meat and fruit and veges are much more expensive, but they don't have GST.

Sorry Tagstash but GST has absolutely no reason to go up and can't unless we get a federal labor and all state labor governments voting for an increase.

Unless diabolical financial mismanagement occurs there will simply be no need.

The government will rake in enormous revenue from the excise from the recent fuel hikes also.

There is almost too much money in the bank atm which will create the opportunity for boom bust.

    cheers
