I wonder if anybody really understands what is happening in East Timor.
Leave the oil to them and a multi nation will come along and take the lot. Australia's deal sees the East Timorese getting huge revenues in royalties and a degree of social protection given that we as a nation will demand it.
Check out the deal before just accepting the Green's view or Labour's view you may be surprised at the actual benefits that East Timor will achieve. Then offer some alternatives that will give the East Timorese a similar return and protection in the future.
