Yeah I agree with you however the media has even stronger protection for its "sources" so the way I see it companies are bound by confidentiality agreements so don't officially announce anything but unless someone is caught leaking and there is an inclination to apply resources to actually catch them then the media just keeps on milking its sources - hence the market rumour is born with no one able to confirm nor deny what is actually going on.
