CEO of LAU Mr Kim Lindsay some time ago said LAU was railing 'more than 100 containers a month' from Melbourne to Brisbane or vice versa, which while sounding impressive is only a median of little more than three a day in each direction if the figure was '100 each way'.

This was about a quarter of the volume it achieved by rail on the much longer Melbourne or Sydney (in total) to Perth rail journey.

It's therefore impressive in January 2023 to see 13 LAU containers on this Brisbane to Melbourne Pacific National intermodal.

Have a look between 1:20 and 1:30 as IIRC eight LAU containers appear in quick succession. The last two look like the attractive LAU logo requires a spruce up as weather over time may have got to them:

We can't suggest that every train on this route would have 13 LAU containers: the figure would very from zero to perhaps occasionally 15 - but 13 on a randomly filmed train show continuing at least reasonable demand in the New Year. Some may be more optimistic than that but I like companies that underpromise and overdeliver.
