By 1150 AEDT on Tuesday 24 January, SP had dropped 7.09 per cent to A$0.6875 on no news.
Volume was 360,000 odd, so it's not as if A$5 million in scrip was changing hands. It could be profit taking, or maybe a few retail investors worried about inflation and the eventual negative effect this may have on consumer spending and hence freight volumes.
Some of LAU's road and rail cartage, especially fruit and vegetables, may be immune from this risk as these are essential foods.
