Perhaps grumpy 'Mr Market' believes LAU won't as I suggest above enetually be a beneficiary of increased competition on rail intermodal but that it'll be hit through having to accept lower rates from clients given that at least initially, the AZJ intermodal trains will have 30 per cent spare capacity (i.e. unused container wagon slots).
But this ignores how demand for rail has been rising, especially on Melbourne and Sydney to Perth.
