Given that new CEO Mr. Clayton McDonald only had a start date of 17 July, I don't think he had much to do with the W B Hunter acquisition announced on 1 July. For all that, I assume the board would have consulted him to ensure that the acquisition was consistent with his thinking on the future direction.
