Watch the first one minute and 20 seconds of this video featuring a Monday departing Perth to Sydney intermodal train about 50 kilometres south of its destination in NSW to see how important a client LAU has become to rail operator Pacific National.
LAU has 20 railable containers in its own livery on this transcontinental freight train. That's the most I've seen to date (previous record was 16 IIRC).
Quite a few may be empty as there's always more freight (supermarket goods and everything else manufactured in Sydney, and even more so in Melbourne) westbound than eastbound.
PN has been losing contracts to listed AZJ and possibly QUB, so the stature of LAU as a non-coal revenue source for PN keeps growing.
We can't predict freight movements and it may be that on some interstate intermodal trains operated by its contractor PN, LAU has nil or hardly any railable containers, but the number of rail kilometres for LAU's containers buttresses the videographic evidence below that the trend is upwards.
