The video below is poor quality (not up to this fellow's usual standard). There are eight liveried LAU railable containers en route from Brisbane to Melbourne, but note numerous white-painted over 'blank' containers (such as three at about 1:00) that have a very good chance of being some of the A$22 million in failed Scott's RT LAU purchased from the liquidators:
Given there are about nine Pacific National Brisbane-Melbourne or return trains most weeks, if LAU can have 10 railable containers (on average) on say seven of the nine trains, that is helpful for overall utilisation.
There are very mixed reports on how the Oz economy is doing, so it'll be fascinating to see what 2024 brings. Further interest rate rises will not be helpful to many smaller "independent" road transport intercapital carriers, some of which compete with LAU.
