if one is up against a hard decision and often in the case of fire fighting when the time is right
the use of an equal force (fire) to facilitate victory/ success then that is what one should/must use.

Your comment about having an objective to become s volunteer I don't understand but I reply that
volunteering was a rational decision made with objectivity
to undertake the duties/ responsibilities amongst other choices.
My raison d etre was not to be a volunteer but was at times in addition to other roles paid/unpaid within my life.
