Surely it couldn't be hard to implement a global pin system, that isn't printed on the card, but which you need to authorise payments. I know some sites make me use the sms code on my Mastercard which is a start.

I always assumed it was the banks that covered this loss. If this thread is correct i would love someone to take them on, and hit them in their hip pocket. Banks are making record profits, but can still up interest rates whenever they feel like it.

Spot on but as alluded to they have nothing to lose. The poor old trader cops it and I know of a few that have had to go out of business because of it.
