Accept that at all times some people will be short and some will be long. This is a somewhat free market. This means you will frequently come across people who disagree with you, think you are wrong and want to make money from your perceived stupidity. There is nothing wrong with this and should be encouraged.


As for grant doing detailed analysis on a stock that he doesn't own or have a view on...this is normal. Do you only research companies that you hold? If so, how do you know that they are under/overvalued against other stocks you could invest in?? You have to cover way more stocks than you plan to hold to get a clearer picture of what is good and what is bad. It is all relative.
