Some interesting analysis in the Bulletin Magazine.

They appear to be forecasting Baghdad will turn into a bloody quagmire with horrendous civilian casualties.

Particularly seems to focus on Baghdad being turned into a Middle Eastern Stalingrad with key troops pulled back to there and strategic weaponry and equipment located deliberately in heavy residential areas.

It's hard to get a fix.

Whatever, it looks more or less a forgone conclusion the attack will go ahead.

Reminds me once again of the research produced this month that in only two cases since the fall of France to Hitler have world equity markets rallied on an attack - the Falklands (which was widely regarded as irrelevant and a long way from anything significant) and the US attack to regain Kuwait.

The Bulletin had a particularly amusing story about how during trial wargames conducted in the past few months a senior US commander who was role-playing Saddam conducted a surprise attack on the US forces using bomb laden sailing boats.

The game was restarted- he was accused of playing dirty and promptly walked out in disgust. LOL!
