Regional public transport season ticket.
Agreement has been reached between the various transport entities in Lazio over an annual season ticket for Lazio commuters which will cover all forms of public transport in the region, including Atac and Acotral buses, Trenitalia Lazio and Metro.Ro. The ticket will be electronic, resemble a credit card, and will be available by the end of 2006.
The Lazio regional government has taken five years to persuade all the interested parties to agree on the ticket, and has now set aside €20 million for the introduction of the new system. The concession for the issuing of the tickets has been granted to ERG, the company which already handles the issuing of tickets for ATAC, which runs city’s urban buses.
