    Still having cash allows you to survive.

    I read a story from France a while back where the local supermarket decided to refuse cash, about 50 locals went in and filled their trolleys and wanted to pay cash, when the supermarket refused, they walked out and left their full trolleys. the supermarket reinstated cash again.
