When someone presents to a clinic/Gp they will first take a history and examine. If it is suggestive of a pneumonia antibiotics are almost always indicated and I don’t think Febridx has enough data to be used in this scenario.

The article was talking about how mycoplasma requires different antibiotics than typical pneumonias and there are so many cases in children this year that there was a shortage. Outbreaks of mycoplasma happen every 5-7 years so this won’t really be an issue again for some time and won’t be relevant at all for Febridx in the next few years.
