From my knowledge, the CPT is just an administration code to support billing for the GP. e.g. Patient goes into GP for a respiratory infection check and they perform Febridx test. Patient is then billed for the visit and the test. Under the bill, CPT code "1234" for Febridx is listed for insurers etc to denote whether any rebates apply etc. In this case, the GP/Patient likely to obtain a rebate from Medicare/Medicaid, but LDX doesn't benefit. Its a benefit to use Febridx when it is linked to a CPT code as it is likely to assist with uptake using the device (more so if patient is reimbursed a portion for having it done).

PLA code is different in the sense the purchaser of Febridx (GP office) will get reimbursed for the use of Febridx and likely make profit from its use as well. e.g. $25 a test is used. GP bills for the visit and the test. PLA reimburses the GP $41.38 solely for the test meaning the $25 cost is covered 100% and they make profit for using the test of $16.38.

Based on the announcement from EIQ today, it could be that Lumos also gets further funds from the PLA reimbursement, but this hasn't been advised to the market if its the case.

    That's my understanding.
