lol. There is practically zero research or written word about the pit being the problem. You ignore all the tailings science. You ignore everything. You can't get a more brown field sit if you tried. As to the pit water???
The findings show that even when dumping hundred of thousands, to potentially millions of tons of tailings in the sea this is the worst you are going to get.
A few hundred swimming pools of water has got nothing on that. But hey, you won't care.
You want also care that removing and reprocessing tailings from along the coast line for five kilometres will rapidly improve the environment and prevent run off leaching that will take hundreds of years.
You want also care that one the pit has been further exploited you have a ready made pit to return the tailings to to prevent leaching over a wide area...
It ok nro. I have concerns and risks, but I also see possibilities worth punting on.
