    hi savadamoney,

You are quite correct in the sentiments expressed in your earlier post regarding leadership.

Just to expand a bit, there are different types of leadership:

some leaders lead with consensus, some lead with the passions of his/her conviction of "what is right for the country" (after winning a political ballot in an election, of course).

The latter type of leadership can be, and quite often, divisive, but nevertheless leadership, viz lead by example, not by consensus. In "A man For All Seasons", the play and book, Sir Thomas Moore described such a leader as someone who was listening to a different drum beats at that particular moment in time.

I guess what I am attempting to say is, a society may need a different type of leadership at different points in time.

For example, with the financial crisis that the USA is experiencing at the present time, what type of leadership does she need to lead her out of the mess ? I am unsure what my view is on this.

Having said all that, yes, no disagreement with the content of your earlier post.

Just my rumblings on a hot Sunday afternoon here in Sydney.
