That budget wasn't that bad. It should have been tougher quite frankly and many said so including myself. Australia would be in a better position today, had it gone through. No-one wants to take a hit for the team these days.

As for religion, I am with you there, and science is great except it won't protect you when a mad men with a machete wants to attack your head, but my point is that Australia and Europe developed to where we are today with christianity as the backbone. For all its faults, the tenets of christianity took the west to the top of the civilised world.

For people to now call for those underlying principles to be trashed and weakened to accommodate people that hate us and everything we stand for is a real tragedy. No democracy in history has stood the test of time. We are going down fast. Abbott to my mind could withstand some of those pressures. Turnbull wouldn't have a hope in hell.
