Nothing.
The banks do what they want. Out of cycle rate increases for mortgages and the credit card interest rate hasn't moved in years.

Do they hope business will invest with lower rates? Again, so what? How will that help my back pocket? Business are just paying executives more bonuses and doing share buy backs rather than give employees a decent pay rise.

I struggle NOT to be cynical in this economic climate :/

If the people dont spend or cant spend the economy will fall and struggle untill the people start spending.
Give people a wage rise.
