I have to imagine that in my mind's eye. Why does overlaying the chart with inflation and unemployment make it totally different?
I agree with you that it's not that straightforward but it's a powerful signal to include in your own personal risk management equation. For me, the risk moves up x percent and exposure declines x percent. Don't have a value for x as yet.
