I also get the promo emails from HotCopper, which is ok, because it keeps me informed. I keep watch on the stocks presented in the email blast out and notice the same pattern for that follows. Usually a quick rise as people jump on board and then it pulls back in the next couple of days.

I'm not saying any of the stocks they promote aren't viable, or are being deliberately ramped, but clearly HC provides a service that reaches a lot of people and companies will pay to reach the member base.

I just add the companies to my watch list and see how they go over the next month or so. As it goes, I haven't invested in any of them yet.
