Thanks for all the good advice, its all part of the learning curve these ups and downs. HotCopper is a great source of info for learning how to trade. Snapper, I hope to not lose my shirt. So far I'm up 14% after 4 months, would have been a lot higher except for 3 bad calls on my part, but I've done quite a few trades in my first 4 months, so only 3 bad calls is probably ok. Overall i'm quite happy with my 14% so far, much better than the bank returns.

One bit of advice I would give to any absolute beginners is to read a couple good trading books first up. I decided to start trading and was too impatient to wait until I had done a bit of reading. Now I have read one book, and I've just started reading another trading book that seems quite good.
