Reality is .. most would have paid for a return flight via their initial travel booking ?
I would imagine they should not get refunded for that 'return' booking if they had received free flight via govt
( no doubt they will all still chase the refund on their 'return' booking )
Those who know how lucky they are have been expressing their gratefulness to the Australian Govt.. this is what I would expect should be the first words uttered by those who chose to travel to a war zone

I would like to see the Govt offer to provide some logistical and personnel support to the US who have just been destroyed by a cyclone and have another one bearing down rather than free flights out of the middle east
what's the return on investment we get for free flights out of the ME ? more protests on the streets
or grateful people who might even consider ditching Islam for a far superior system ?
