Changed most of the bulbs in our house in the 90's when compact fluorescents were all the rage - most of them were gone after a few years and survived by the incandescents that hadn't been replaced in wardrobes and toilets. The LEDs we have now give a better light and much cheaper to run but have had to replace a couple of those too. They can be a bit problematic if you have dimmers or touch lamps.
