If I were an algorithm (i'm not, BTW LOL), and was trying to manipulate price downwards, I wouldn't do it by buying.

Rather I'd be dropping small amounts of stock in on the sell side to tease those sellers sitting back at higher prices to come down in their expectations. After all it is selling that moves price down, not buying.

If I wanted to move the price up, I'd do the same in reverse.

Bu hey I'm as amateur as the next guy, so would welcome being proven wrong with a better explanation of how market dynamics work, if the above is incorrect.

By the way, we have had bot buying all day and where has price gone? Could be a massive coincidence, of course....
