As @picastoc said, they can be delicious. Chicken and leek pie, cold Vichyssoise with crusty bread on a warm summers day.
But I've never seen them for less than $2.99 each.
Cant wait to hear Watso's tale of how he got a crate of them RTC for $1 or rescued from a dumpster gratis.
Plus what he did with them (to them?). The mind boggles and I shudder to think......
